Kohli has the attitude to win each and every tie, says Sourav 1

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly does not want to compare Virat Kohli with MS Dhoni in terms of leadership skills. But, He observed great captaincy skills of Virat in the first Test match against West Indies.

India won by an innings and 92 runs over the West Indies as they registered their biggest Test victory outside Asia, that also witnessed Kohli smashing his maiden Test as well as First-Class double ton. Sourav thinks Kohli was good at making the correct bowling changes, that expressed his great attitude to win each and every tie at any costs, which is surely going to impress his fans and supporters back at home.

Kohli took over the captaincy from Dhoni, who retired in December 2014. From then India played 11 matches, and won six of them. He also registered a historic series win over Sri Lanka and South Africa in 2016, while bringing up an impressive batting average of 60 during that period.

“Kohli and Dhoni are different personalities on the field. It’s too early to compare the two. Maybe Kohli will win it 2-0 or 4-0; we don’t know yet. Dhoni also won the series the last time in 2011,” Ganguly told.

However, Ganguly said that Kohli’s real tests are yet to come in England, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, where India are yet to do well. Ganguly was confident that Kohli is the man to take Indian cricket ahead because of his right attitude.

“Kohli brings people to the ground. He is one of my favourites. I like it when he says that it’s time to deliver in Test cricket and that this is no time to learn. He is a spectator’s delight,” he told.

Sourav came up with some advice for the West Indies. He said that as they play on a grassy surface, it would fruitful for them to play a genuine pacer, especially in the form of Shanon Gabriel. “West Indies will need to get in pace. Leaving grass is not a solution. They need to play a genuine pacer if they are leaving grass on the wicket. I would play Joseph,” he said.
