Windies cricketer Kraigg Brathwaite has been cleared to bowl again in international cricket. The 26-year-old opening batsman is a part-time off-spinner.
In the last August-September, during the second and final Test of the home series against India, Kraigg Brathwaite received the report on his bowling action. He only bowled in the first innings of that Test match and had the bowling figures of 2-0-8-1. In that game, the part-time off-spinner dismissed the Indian lower-order batsman Ishant Sharma (57 runs).

On 14th September, Brathwaite underwent a bowling assessment in Loughborough. Last Monday (30th September), the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that Brathwaite’s bowling action is legal. So, the part-timer is available to bowl again in international cricket.

ICC media release stated, “He Subsequently underwent a bowling assessment in Loughborough on 14 September, where it was revealed that the amount of elbow extension for all his deliveries was within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC Illegal Bowling Regulations.”
Kraigg Brathwaite received report on his bowling action for the first time in August 2017
It was not the first time when Kraigg Brathwaite got the report of suspected illegal bowling action. In August 2017, during the Edgbaston Test against the hosts England, Brathwaite received the report of suspected illegal bowling action.
Later, on 31st August 2017, he tested his bowling action at the Loughborough testing centre. However, in September 2017, the ICC announced his bowling action legal for international cricket.
While Kraigg Brathwaite has played 58 Tests, he has bowled in 37 Test innings. The off-spinner has the Test career bowling figures of 316.3-26-1025-18. His best bowling figures in a Test innings were 11.3-4-29-6 against Sri Lanka at Colombo (PSS) in October 2015.

In ODI career, Brathwaite has bowled in five innings out of 10 matches and managed to pick up one wicket.
Kraigg Brathwaite has also taken 26 wickets in 147 first-class matches and six wickets in 53 List A matches.
