Krishnappa Gowtham Replaces Jayant Yadav In India A Squad For Unofficial Tests Against South Africa A
Karnataka’s all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham has replaced Jayant Yadav in the India A squad for the two unofficial Test matches against South Africa A. Yadav has returned back to the country due to some personal reasons.

Gowtham was the best all-rounder for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy season 2016/17. He scored a total of 178 runs at an average of 25.42 and also bagged a total of 27 wickets in the tournament. His prowess in the tournament earned him an IPL contract worth R. 2 Crores with Mumbai Indians. He was expected to be the mainstay player for the team in IPL but didn’t get even a single game and warmed the bench whole season.
This time though he will expect to get a game to fill the devoid left by Jayant Yadav.

Meanwhile, the India A is all set to face South Africa A in the final of the tri-series on August 8. Both the teams won three games each during the group stage and will face each other on Tuesday.
The two unofficial Test will be played from August 12 and 19 respectively.
Hosts have also announced their squad for the bilateral series. Aiden Markram will lead the 15-member squad, which includes the likes of David Miller and Andeil Phehlukwayo as well.
