Kuldeep, Chahal Should Even Play Test If Opportunity Arises: Harbhajan Singh

The Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh, has asked for a longer rope to the pair of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav as he has said that both the spinner should stay on the team and should play more,
“The two wrist spinners should stay. They are young. The more they play, the better they will get. If you will make them sit out and bring in others then somewhere along the line they will start thinking, let me cement my place first or if I should think before doing something,” Harbhajan Singh told Aajtak.

Both have sealed their place in the team as after being selected in the squad for the Sri Lanka series, both of them retained their place for the Australia series as well. The biggest surprise was the dropping of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, both of them who were rested.
Harbhajan even added that they (Kuldeep and Chahal) should get a chance in Test matches as well, in case the opportunity arises,
“When you are in good rhythm, you should play more and more. According to me, the two should play all the games; whether ODIs or T20Is. And why not Test matches in the future, if the opportunity arises,” he added.
At present, it looks like selectors are trying to look ahead of the both Ashwin and Jadeja from the team at least in the limited overs format as Aswhin has not been in form from past two years whereas Jadeja too has failed to play the role of an all-rounder. Both of them are still in the scheme of things and can be brought back anytime in case the young pair fails ahead.

As said, in the home season though, Ashwin and Jadeja are expected to stay out of the team with Kuldeep, Chahal and Axar Patel being the three men in the spin department.
