Winning, losing and again; that has been the story of Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League 2018. Coming to the game, Kolkata Knight Riders made their way into the game with the only intention of winning at any cost. Thankfully for KKR, their best spinner stood up to the occasion to hand one of the sweetest victories for the team.

Making a comeback is a part of the IPL: Dinesh Karthik

Speaking of the match, the winning skipper, Dinesh Karthik felt that Rajasthan openers did the tremendous job for them to score quick runs on the board but he applauded the effort put in by the bowlers to make a comeback after that initial onslaught. Dinesh Karthik also quoted that making a comeback in the tourney is the part of IPL.

”I think they started off brilliantly; especially Buttler and Tripathi played really well. But it also shows our character where we just didn’t give up. When we got the chance we just didn’t let it go. Winning one, losing the next and then coming back is a part of the IPL. We just try and put in team bonding sessions, keep interacting and look to put a smile on everyone’s face to keep them motivated,” Dinesh Karthik quoted.

I was convinced of Sanju Samson’s Lbw: Karthik on successful DRS call

Just when things looked like easing for the visitors, Sanju Samson failed to pick the delivery of Sunil Narine that hit him on his back thigh. The umpire who called not-out was stiff in his decision but Dinesh Karthik took a brave DRS call which yielded the result. Speaking of the same, he added that he was convinced of it. He concluded his interview by quoting that Kuldeep Yadav as a world-class bowler.

”Yeah I was convinced. I thought at that stage the wicket was really important. Kuldeep is an international quality bowler and is one of the best chinaman bowlers in the world. He is sometimes so confident that he ends up slacking off and giving out one easy ball. But he is very hardworking, always in the gym and if I can keep him consistent it is enough. (On qualifications) Now you are scaring me (chuckles),” he concluded while speaking in post-match presentation.

However, the win ensured KKR to strengthen their chances for playoffs. Now, they have got the straight equation. If they can pull the victory against Sunrisers at Hyderabad, they will through to playoffs without any further considerations but if they fail to get a win, mostly, they will be out of the tourney.
