Left-arm Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has been hogging the limelight ever since he took a memorable hat-trick at the Eden Gardens last evening and the fans and supporters are yet to get over it. It was a sensational piece of spin bowling by the youngster, and though he was lucky to dismiss Matthew Wade, which was his first dismissal on his way to his hat-trick, the next two was excellent deliveries which bamboozled both Ashton Agar and Pat Cummins.
He didn’t bowl too well up front, but when it mattered the most, he ran through the lower middle order and helped India seal a sensational victory by 50 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. With impressive performances in the recent past, Kuldeep Yadav has shut the doors on No.2 Test bowler in the world Ravindra Jadeja to make a comeback in the limited overs format.
Kuldeep has been an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders set up for the last couple of years now after proving his mettle during the 2015 Champions League. Kuldeep has been a rarity in the Indian circuit, and his style of bowling is an unknown commodity especially in India. I don’t remember a chinaman bowler who represented India at the highest level barring Kuldeep, and if he can maintain his temperament, he might well turn out to be a great bowler in the future.
