Lakshmipathy Balaji appointed as Tamil Nadu player-cum-coach
Lakshmipathy Balaji will be Tamil Nadu’s player-cum-coach for the Ranji Trophy as they take on Baroda in the opening game on October 1.
Former Indian pace bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji has been appointed as player-cum-coach for Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu side will take on Baroda in the opening game of the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai starting October 1.
Abhinav Mukund, the left-handed batsmen who played 5 tests for India in 2011 will be leading the Tamil Nadu side. U Sushil and M Kaushik Gandhi would join the team for matches to be played at Indore against Madhya Pradesh from October 8th to 11th and against Mumbai in Mumbai from October 15th to 18th.
In the other camps, right-handed batsman Devendra Bundela has been retained as skipper of Madhya Pradesh team. MP will play against Uttar Pradesh at Moradabad from October 1 in their first match of the season, a member of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) was quoted as saying on Tuesday. He said in their second game MP will play against Tamil Nadu at Indore from October 8.
