Liam Livingstone, the 21-year old all-rounder from Lancashire, created history on April 19th 2015 as he hit a world record 350 off just 138 balls for Nantwich in a National Club Championship match against Caldy.

Livingstone smashed 34 fours and 27 sixes as Nantwich scored a mammoth 579/7 in just 45 overs. Three of the Caldy’s bowlers conceded in excess of 100 runs.

While chasing the target, Nantwich’s bowlers made regular amends as Caldy collapsed to just 79 runs and the former won the match by a huge margin of 500 runs. Livingstone’s breathtaking assault is believed to be the highest score recorded by an individual across any form of a one-day match, surpassing the record of 334 runs set by India’s Nikhilesh Surendran in an inter-school fixture in Hyderabad in 2008.

During an interview with BBC Sport, he quoted:

“It is all a bit surreal. It hasn’t sunk in yet but it is a very proud day and luckily my mum and dad were there to see it.

“From 100 onwards, I was just trying to whack every ball for six. When I got into the high 200s and into the 300s, I realised that something quite special could happen.”

It is not the first time that Livingstone has gone past a score in excess of 200. Last season, he scored 204 off 242 balls in Lancashire’s final second XI game against Yorkshire’s second XI.

However, the right-handed batsman added that he has no time to celebrate his world record as he has a early morning training session with Lancashire the next day.

“Unfortunately I have got training with Lancashire at 10 o’clock in the morning, so I will be having an early night.

“But sometime in the near future, I will definitely be having a few drinks to celebrate,” he concluded.
