In the latest rankings announced for test bowlers, Indian ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who did not have a great IPL 9 retains his number 2 spot in test matches. There are no Indian batsmen to feature in the top 10 batsmen list.
England’ Stuart Broad leads the ranking with 872 points. The Indian ace spinner occupies the second place just one point behind Stuart Broad.
England spearhead James Anderson returns to the top three following a 10 wicket haul against Sri Lanka at Headingley leapfrogging Pakistan Yasir Shah and South Africa’s Dale Steyn. For his excellent performance, James Anderson earned 49 points which has put him on a career high of 854 points.
The fourth place is occupied by Pakistan’s Yasir Shah who has 846 points. Yasir Shah Chances of going up the ranks are high as Pakistan will play England in four match test series. World best bowler Dale Steyn slips down to fifth in the ranking with ordinary performances in the past.
India’s left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja occupies the sixth place. In the previous series against South Africa, he picked loads of wickets. The seventh place is captured by New Zealand’s fast bowler Trent Boult.
The eighth position is occupied by Australia’s young fast bowler Josh Hazlewood. The last two positions are occupied by two South African fast bowlers.
In the batsmen rankings, Steve Smith leads the chart. In the batting rankings, 3 are from Australia, 2 are from Pakistan and South Africa, 1 each from New Zealand, England, and Sri Lanka.
