- Mohammad Azharuddin (Nine Hundreds)

Hyderabad-born Azharuddin capped India in 99 Tests and made his own mark, both as a batsman and then as skipper. Being the only player ever to score three consecutive centuries in first three innings of his Test career, the right-handed batsman scored 6215 runs in 99 Test matches.
As a captain, he scored 9 centuries in 68 innings, leading during 1990-1999, having won 14 matches out of 47 and losing as many. He stands second on the list for the most number of centuries in Tests as an Indian captain.
