India is playing against Sri Lanka in the first of the three-match Test encounter at Eden Gardens. However, much to the sorrow of the spectators most of the days play has been washed off due to rain and overcast conditions. Sri Lanka put India to bat first winning the toss as the bowlers backed the captain’s decision reducing the men in blues 17 for three as the umpire called off for the day. Suranga Lakmal was exceptional picking up three important wickets without conceding a single run in the first days play.

As it continued to drizzle throughout the first day, local lad Wriddhiman Saha was discussing the weather condition with team India coach Ravi Shastri and skipper Virat Kohli.

In the video posted by Board of Control for Cricket’s (BCCI) official twitter handle, Saha was seen gesturing with his hand the direction from where the wind and rain were coming to Kohli and Shastri. Saha turned a weather expert discussing things with the team management which eventually stopped the days play.

India lost two early wickets to continue from 17 for three at the start of the second day’s play courtesy some rash shots from Ajinkya Rahane and Ravichandran Ashwin off Dasun Shanaka. However, Cheteshwar Pujara looked rock solid at the other end as he remained unbeaten at 47 with Saha at six before the days play was called off due to rain.
Sri Lanka’s tall and lanky pacer Suranga Lakmal entered into the records books for bowling the seven consecutive maidens since 2001 which was previously held by West Indies Jerome Taylor against Australia.
