The current Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan, can soon lose his job as PCB is mulling to borrow and implement some of the Lodha recommendations. As per reports, PCB is also thinking to withdraw contracts of the administrators who have crossed the age of 70, which means that Shahryar Khan is set to lose his job as the head of the board is 82 years old.

“The board has now drawn up a shortlist of potential candidates all former test players who will be given assignments with the teams in future,” a source told PTI.

Last year as well we saw PCB did not withdraw the contract of Intikhab Alam as the manager of the team as he was 76 years of age. He was replaced by 68 years old Wasi Bari.

Further, the list of candidates for the different job positions will be made taking the age of the applicant into account during the selection.

In another progress, PCB have brought back Basit Ali to the post of Head coach of Women’s team and Chairman of national junior selection committee, “It has been decided to bring Basit back as chief junior selector just days after the Chairman sacked him for being involved in a physical brawl with former international, Mahmood Hamid at the national stadium during the national ODI Cup,” the source added.

Basit Ali was sacked from his post on January 2 but has resumed the post again after a period of five days.
