ToggleSachin Tendulkar vs Shane Warne
It is true that Indians play spin better than any other team in the world. The perfect example is the battle between Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne that lasted for so many years but the Australian legend stayed on the backfoot always. The Indian legend was exceptional in both the conditions (in India as well as in Australia) and never remained silent when the ball was in the hands of Warne.
The contest finally commenced in 1998 when Australia toured India to play Tests and a triangular series. The visitors started their tour with an encounter against Mumbai in which Sachin was playing as a skipper. When he came to bat at number 4, every fan was expecting some great cricket between the two. Tendulkar did not disappoint his fans as he smashed Warne all around the park. In the end, Warne’s figures readout to be as 16-1-111-0.
The story remained same in the Test matches too as Sachin had won the battle on almost every occasion against the world’s best spinner. The Pepsi triangular series in India and Coca-Cola Cup at Sharjah were two of the top tournaments where the duo faced each other and Tendulkar was once again unstoppable against his on-field arch-rival.
