Luke Ronchi has been appointed batting coach of New Zealand. He has also earlier worked with the team and has returned after Fluter Pluton left the place vacant in July.
Luke Ronchi has represented the Kiwi team in 122 international matches, consisting of four Tests, 85 ODIs and 33 T20I. He was with the team for the 2019 World Cup campaign but was not given a full-time job.

The former wicket-keeper batsman is pumped to get back with the team as the summer season start for the New Zealand team. He is hopeful to produce better batsmen while working with the national team.
“I’m absolutely pumped. I’ve really enjoyed being back with the team in recent seasons and it’s exciting to be given the opportunity full-time this summer,” he said.
“Getting the chance to continue working with our batsmen is a great honor and I’m looking forward to seeing how I can help improve their games and best prepare them to perform at the highest level.”

Luke Ronchi added that it would be great to work with the head coach Gary Steed when the four teams tour New Zealand in the coming season.
“It will be great to sit down with Gary and the other coaches to begin planning for what will be a busy summer with four touring teams who will all bring different challenges,” he said.
Since retiring from all forms of cricket in 2017, Ronchi has been involved with Cricket Wellington’s development programs and will now do to job for his country’s team.
