Lyca Kovai Kings continues their winning run in TNPL, defeats Chepauk Gillies by 11 runs

The Syed Mohammad led Kovai Kings cruised to another win in the tournament as they defeated the Chepauk Gillies in what can be called as a low scoring contest. Batting first the Kovai kings scored 137 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. B Anirudha Sita Ram was the only batsman who provided stability to the batting order. No other batsman was able to stick the feet on the ground. The last moment heroics from M Mohammed, however, played a big difference in the scores at the end. He added 26 runs in just 12 balls thus making a big difference in the end.

All were expecting Gillies to win the contest as they have a strong batting line-up but the results were exactly opposite to the expectations. None of the Gillies batsmen looked in touch and it looked like they are coming at the crease because they have to come. Chepauk team surprisingly fell 11 runs short of the target and lost the match. S Harish Kumar shone with the ball taking 3 wickets for just 23 runs in four overs.

It was the second loss for Chepauk in four matches.
