Mahendra Singh Dhoni Files A Complaint Against Mobile Company For Misusing His Name 1

Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has filed a case against a company for allegedly misusing his name, despite the contract between the two parties expiring way back in 2012. The court has now called up the officials of Maxx Mobilink Pvt Ltd for breaching the contract.

“Why are you (Maxx) not complying with the order? You have to follow the court’s direction…both parties are directed to comply with the order dated April 21, 2016, before the next date of hearing that is July 28,” Justice Manmohan said.

The company was asked to stop using the name of Dhoni while endorsing its product in 2014 but it continued to do so. Last year as well, the court sought a reply from the company on the steps taken by them to remove Dhoni’s name while endorsing their product and it came to be known that the company didn’t follow the previous order of the court, which led to Dhoni filing a complaint.

Maxx Mobilink Pvt Limited, however, has put in front a plea that they haven’t misused the name of Mahendra Singh Dhoni while endorsing their product whereas Dhoni’s party has said the company is still using his name and also owe Dhoni hefty dues.
