Few of the biggest names from cricket will be taking part in the much-anticipated Major League Cricket (MLC). The inaugural edition of the competition is scheduled to take place from July 13 to 20 in Dallas, United States.
A total of six teams will be participating in the competition with few teams being owned by some Indian Premier League franchises. The six teams are – MI New York, DC Washington Freedom, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas, Los Angeles Knight Riders, Texas Franchise (owned by Chennai Super Kings owners).
Some of the big names who will be featuring in the MLC are former Australia skipper Aaron Finch, their current allrounder Mitchell Marsh, South Africa stars Quinton de Kock and Anrich Nortje. Sri Lanka star Wanindu Hasaranga, who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, will also play in the MLC this year.
MLC squads:
San Francisco Unicorns on Monday announced that Aaron Finch would lead their team in the T20 tournament. On the other hand, Nortje and Hasaranga will turn up for DC Washington Freedom while Quinton de Kock and Mitchell Marsh will ply their trade for Seattle Orcas.
Australia star Marcus Stoinis will be playing for San Francisco Unicorns too. The likes of Corey Anderson and Liam Plunkett will also turn up for the San Francisco-based outfit.
While current India players will not be playing in the MLC, former India U19 star Unmukt Chand will be playing in the competition. Having played in the IPL before, Chand, who currently plays competitive cricket in the United States, will play for Los Angeles.
