The Rajasthan Royals were back at their fortress in style as the Sawai Mansingh Stadium lit up for an exciting contest. The Royal line up looked strong with the likes of Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler following up the top order.

The opening batsman Rahane hit five boundaries and ensured a steady run-flow after losing his partner D’Arcy Short.

Samson shines in a thrilling night:
The middle-order batsman scored a 22-ball 37 and took his side to a strong position until the rain stopped play. Samson hit two sixes and an equal number of boundaries. It was a back-to-back show for him, after playing a good hand of 49 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous encounter.
The Royals were on 153 for five in 17.5 overs after rain interrupted play for over an hour. A revised target of 71 in 36 balls turned out to be too much for the Delhi Daredevils as they seemed to be in a shell.
Glenn Maxwell missed a few deliveries before middling a couple of them for four and a clean hit to the first tier. But Delhi felt behind.

Skipper Gautam Gambhir didn’t come out to bat and instead, the hard-hitters were promoted. The likes of Rishabh Pant and Chris Morris tried to send the ball for plenty but Ben Laughlin’s accuracy got the better of the batters.
The pacer in the form of Laughlin finished his two overs, bagging two wickets and conceded just 20 runs. His fellow teammates- K Gowtham and Jaydev Unadkat bowled one and two overs respectively. But Dhawal Kulkarni’s economical over ended as the knockout punch.

The Royals won the game by 10 runs owing to the Duckworth-Lewis (DLS) method. It eventually helped them open their account in the points table.
In Samson, they have a solid batter who can play according to the situation and in a fast-paced league like the IPL, it can just turn out to be an important pick, this season.
