India lost the three-match ODI series as the team was defeated in the 3rd ODI at Bay Oval by five wickets. Although India did not win the series, the partnership between Manish Pandey and KL Rahul rekindled the fighting fire in the visitors. However, India did not only lose the match, but New Zealand also broke the 31-year record by defeating India 3-0.

After coming to bat first, India had the bad start as the Indian opener Mayank Agarwal (1) and the skipper Virat Kohli (9) went down early in the game. However, Prithvi Shaw partnered with Shreyas Iyer and scored 40 runs before Colin de Grandhomme ran him out in the 13th over.

From there on, Iyer and the wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul took over to post a hundred-run partnership. And once again, Grandhomme dived to his left to dismiss Iyer in the 31st over. Iyer scored 63-ball 62 runs with a strike rate of 98.

Manish Pandey played his first ODI in the third and last game of the series after Iyer returned to the hut. And another 107-run partnership was seen between the two Karnataka teammates. The duo stitched some good knocks together, where Pandey neared a third fifty while Rahul scored a stunning century.

Although India struggled a lot in all the three sections of the game in the recently-concluded series, the partnership between Rahul and Pandey produced funny moments for the Indian cricket fans. As the game commenced, the duo was seen conversing in Kannada.

The terms used by them were caught on the stump mics and were hilarious for the listeners. They used words like “Bartheera” (will you come), Odi Odi Ba (come running), Beda Beda (no-no) and Ba Ba (come).

However, India faced another tragedy as they lost the two set batsmen in quick succession.

And with the uncertain end to the three-match limited-overs game, Virat Kohli & Co. are gearing up for the next up, two red-ball games.

The two Test matches will follow up after the three-day practice session.
