Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, in another comical review of the match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), stated that Manish Pandey, who was the match-winner for SRH, batted like Sehwag.
While chasing a 155 runs targets set by RR, SRH was sinking before Manish Pandey, and Vijay Shankar took command of the game. Pandey went berserk from the very first ball while Vijay took time to settle in.
Both stitched up over a match-winning hundred runs partnership to take the game home. Pandey scored 83 off 47 at the strike rate of 176.59 while the allrounder amassed 52 off 51 balls, striking six fours.
Reviewing the match in his own style in his show ‘Viru Ki Baithak’, Virender Sehwag stated that Rajasthan danced on the beat of Hyderabad like a puppet show. He was in full praise of Manish Pandey, saying that he wreaked havoc RR.
“Yesterday, Hyderabad made Rajasthan dance to their beats and showed them what it’s like to be a puppet as well as how enjoyable puppetry is. Pandeyji played an innings like me and wrecked Rajasthan,” Sehwag said.
Virender Sehwag believes SRH are still alive in the competition:
Former Indian cricketer also jokingly said that it looks like Pandey’s performance had improved after watching his shows. He also praised Vijay Shankar for playing a good supporting role.
Virender Sehwag also stated that Hyderabad chances are still alive to qualify for the playoffs.
“I think he sat and binge-watched all the Veeru Ki Baithak episodes. Good for him. Now he will get a warranty, Vijay Shankar played a good supporting role and became Vijay ‘Run’ Kar. Now, it finally seems like Hyderabad’s middle order and their playoff chances have both been given CPR,” Virender Sehwag added.
With four matches left to play, SunRisers Hyderabad is standing at number fifth position in the points table with eight points in 10 matches. Their next assignment is against Kings XI Punjab, who are just behind SRH in the points table. As both the teams eyeing to win the match, it is going to be a highly competitive match.
