Manoj Tiwari worried about Goswami form before clash against Vidharva at home
Despite having prepared a green lush wicket for their crucial Ranji Trophy home match against Vidharva, starting today, Bengal captain Manoj Tiwari does not seem confident of earning full six points from the match.
And in a bid to make the best use of this green top wicket at the Jadavpur University ground at the Salt Lake, Bengal cricket’s think-tank has also decided to include four fast bowlers in the match.
Only Mukesh Kumar, the promising fast bowler who had scalped four wickets in the team’s previous match against Haryana, has been ruled out of this match due to groin injury. He is going to be replaced by another new pacer named, Sayan Ghosh who is generally called ‘Malinga of Bengal cricket’ for his similar bowling action with the Sri Lankan fast bowler.
Bengal skipper seems worried about another point that his one of the key batsmen Srivats Goswami is struggling to regain his form.
Although CAB president Sourav Ganguly who was present at the ground to watch Bengal’s training on Friday, is optimistic about Goswami’s return to his form. Ganguly said, “I hope Goswami will start getting runs from this crucial match.” Gswami has scored only 67 runs in Bengal’s last three matches.
Manoj however said after the training on Friday, “Vidharva is strong side where experienced batsmen like Wasim Jafar and S. Badrinath have been in good touch. So, on such a green top wicket, we and depending on our experienced bowlers like Dinda, Vir Pratap Singh and Prajgyan Ojha also.”
