Manoj Tiwary and Manvinder Bisla to play in Dhaka Premier League
Indian players Manoj Tiwari and Manvinder Bisla are travelling to Bangladesh to be part of the Dhaka Premier League.Bengal captain, Manoj Tiwari, who remained unsold in this year’s IPL auction, was an integral part of Kolkata Knight Riders’ title-winning campaign in 2014. Apart from Kolkata Knight Riders Tiwari also played for Delhi Daredevils. The Bengal captain will play for Abahani Limited.
Goa wicketkeeper Manvinder Bisla who is fondly remembered for his man of the Match effort in the 2012 IPL final, will also play for Abahani Limited. Bisla played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous editions of IPL but remained unsold in this year’s auction.
Captained by Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal, Abahani Limited are not having a very good tournament as they are placed seventh in the 12-team List-A tournament. They have managed to win only three out of six matches and will surely expect that the new additions will give them the much-needed boost to perform better. Apart from Tamim Iqbal some other big players in the team are Taskin Ahmed and Litton Das.
Tiwary is expected to get three matches before the DPL comes to an end, starting with Monday’s match against Kalabagan CA.
Tiwary, who was selected in the Indian team after a superb 2006-07 season in the domestic circuit with Bengal, has represented Indian in 12 One-Day Internationals (ODI) and three T20 Internationals (T20I). His last appearance for India was India’s tour of Zimbabwe in 2015.
