ToggleGood news coming in for the Australian Cricket Team as all-rounder Marcus Stoinis is likely to feature in their next game against Bangladesh at the Trent Bridge. The cricketer was sidelined after sustaining an injury during the game against India on June 9. He missed out on playing against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Australia pondered options with Stoinis injured
Australia had to work on their XI as they also called in Mitchell Marsh as a possible replacement. In Stoinis’ absence, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith and to an extent Aaron Finch had to chip in with the ball. Coach Justin Langer sees the positive side. “We said at the start of the tour that we’ve got lots of options, very adaptable and that’s our strength not our weakness.

I get the sense some people think that’s our weakness. I actually think it’s our strength that we can play according to our opposition, we can play accordingly to grounds, we can play according to managing players.”

Australia brace of Bangladesh’s challenge
Bangladesh, on the other hand, have been on a roll. They started their campaign by beating South Africa and came very close to embarrass New Zealand in a low-scoring contest. The side moved up to the fifth position after their record chase against Windies. Veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been in red hot form as he scored back to back hundreds to go with a couple of fifties.

On Bangladesh, Langer said “We haven’t played against them and when we do play against them they are usually in their conditions,” said Langer. “We’ve watched of the competition. They all are, but this one in particular, the way it’s starting to open up a little bit on the table. We’ll be well prepared and all our boys know that.”
