Australia batsman Marcus Stoinis opined that his exclusive focus is on the limited-overs cricket and ongoing series against India in the sub-continent, as the struggling visitors are trailing by 0-3 in the five-match One-day internationals after faltering with the bat in first two matches.
Stoinis has expressed his satisfaction with his performance and is confident of coming good, in the two remaining fixtures of the 50-over format.
“There’s two games left in this series and it’s a chance to start some momentum for the summer. All the focus is on that for the team,” Stoinis’ comments were published by Cricket Australia.
The 28-year-old Stoinis, who is very fresh to the international cricket, has smashed a solitary century in Auckland which came against New Zealand in January this year.
Stoinis is sweating it out in Bengaluru while revealing he has performed under pressure while facing quality bowling line-up.
“The only way I can answer is (to say) I’m enjoying the pressure,” Stoinis maintained.
As the Victorian-based all-rounder, Stoinis might be pressing his claims for the traditional series by his performance.
However, Stoinis went on to reiterate the Steven Smith-led side would be eyeing to win the remainder of the matches of Paytm series.
“I’m enjoying the opportunities and I’m seeing them as opportunities,” Stoinis remarked.

Owing to his reputation, Stoinis admitted the fact that he has not given a thought of playing upcoming Ashes series.
“Obviously (those games) are probably pretty important to play the Ashes. But at the moment I’m not really thinking about that,” Stoinis added.
Pertinently, due to the individual performance, Stoinis is the one who rose to the occasion, as he remained unbeaten twice in three matches.
“I’m obviously still young in my international career and I think that’s where my head is at the moment,” Stoinis said.
Interestingly, Stoinis is averaging 94.66 in six ODIs, as he has further vowed to give his best in a bid to lift the team following the string of losses.
“I guess if I do want to play for Australia, I’m obviously going to have to bat well, bowl well and field well,” Stoinis further concluded.
After the dismissal performance with the willow at Chepauk in Chennai, Stoinis scored unbeaten 62 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and 27 not out at Holkar Stadium in Indore.
Both the top-ranked sides are scheduled to face in Bengaluru on Thursday, as Men in Blue skipper would be eyeing to set a record for the most number of consecutive wins.
Stoinis, who made his international debut in 2015, has played six ODIs and a solitary Twenty20 fixture against Australia at Cardiff.
