England pacer Mark Wood shared the first glimpse of his first-born daughter on Instagram who was born in May as he prepares for the upcoming Ashes 2023 series.
Wood had missed the final stages of IPL 2023 to attend the birth of his daughter. He had missed Lucknow Super Giants’ last two matches due to illness but has been a revelation for them this season, taking 11 wickets in his four appearances including 5 for 14 on his debut against Delhi Capitals.
Wood left the LSG camp on May 7 and had given a heartful farewell speech and with the Ashes in sight, decided not to return for the playoffs, in which LSG fell short against the Mumbai Indians.

Speaking about the squad, Wood had said, “It’s a great team and I really love it. The backroom staff are fantastic. And it’s been great to see all the lads do well over different parts of the tournament.” Wood further wished the Super Giants luck for the rest of the competition, saying, “One last push to try and get into the playoffs and make it to the final. That’s the goal. The lads are training hard and I’m sure they will come good.”
