Marlon Samuels Makes ‘Pathetic Comments’ About Shane Warne

Marlon Samuels was referred to as an ordinary cricketer and an ordinary man by Shane Warne whose tweet prompted the West Indian making things even worse with pathetic comments. He responded to legendary spinner Shane Warne’s comments on his Instagram saying that Shane Warne needs plastic surgery.

West Indian cricketer Marlon Samuels hit back at former Australian cricketer Shane Warne, who asked the all-rounder to get help after his controversial remarks over England all-rounder Ben Stokes and his wife. This verbal war started after Ben Stokes comment on Marlon Samuels earlier this week.

Marlon Samuels Had Something Of  Feud With Ben Stokes

Marlon Samuels also has something of a dispute of sorts with England all-rounder Ben Stokes which began during the England cricket tour to the West Indies in 2014-15. The batsman scored a century in the second test match, but he mocked Ben Stokes attempts to distract him with sledging as he batted by saying that it only concentrated his mind on the job in hand.

Ben Stokes was then dismissed for only 8 on Day 3 of the same match after which Marlon Samuels saluted the dismissed batsman. The feud resurfaced again during the final of the 2016 ICC World Twenty20, during which Marlon Samuels scored a crucial match-winning 85.

Ben Stokes bowled the final over of the match to all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite who hit 4 sixes to win the final. The West Indian batsman was at the non-striker’s end and claimed that Ben Stokes “never learns” after the game.

Tensions again arose between the duo in 2020. Ben Stokes, who had been forced to quarantine while visiting his family in New Zealand during the Covid-19 pandemic, later joked that the experience of isolation had been so tough “he wouldn’t wish it on his worse enemy”. Ben Stokes responded “no, it’s that bad” on being asked if Marlon Samuels was on the list.

The West Indian responded on his social media with a foul post referencing Ben Stokes’ wife, which drew widespread negative criticism from many in the cricketing world. Among those to respond was legendary spinner Shane Warne, who told Marlon Samuels that he “needs serious help” as he has no friends and even ex-teammates supporting him. The batsman mocked the spinner, Shane Warne, for having plastic surgery.

Marlon Samuels Also Posted An Ugly Comment On Shane Warne

Marlon Samuels responded further by posting an ugly hypothetical conversation between the doctor and Shane Warne.

“Haha I need help is this coming from the first cricketer to do a face surgery to look young. “Haha I need help is this coming from the first cricketer to do a face surgery to look young,” Marlon Samuels maintained.

The banter all started when all-rounder Ben Stokes stated in a chat with BBC that he won’t wish 14-day quarantine to his enemies.

Describing the tough quarantine process, Stokes said “You get off the plane, get your bag, walk out and get told what hotel to go to. There’s no choice, it’s pot luck whether you get a good hotel or not. The government have chosen certain hotels to be the quarantine hotels.”

“I posted a few Instagram stories and some of the England boys were messaging me asking, ‘What it’s like?’ and I was saying, ‘It wasn’t the most enjoyable thing you ever have to do, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy,” the England all-rounder further added.

“I text my brother saying the same thing, and my brother asked, ‘You wouldn’t even do that to Marlon Samuels?”

“I said, ‘No, it’s that bad’, — that’s how tough it was,” he concluded.

These comments heated the West Indian, who ended up commenting ugly things on his social media account for Ben Stokes. The 39-year-old targeted Ben Stokes’ skin colour as well as his wife while going on to say pathetic things.

Marlon Samuels was a key member of the West Indies team that won the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 and 2016 ICC World Twenty20 and was named man of the match in the final of both tournaments, becoming the first man to achieve the feat.
