The aggressive and ever animated ex captain of the Bangladesh national team Mashrafe Mortaza is closing in on saying good bye to his Test career after off Test match on the tour of Bangladesh to be held at Fatullah on the 10th of June this year.

Mortaza who had a career hampered by injuries is all set to play his final test match wants to play more of international cricket and is thinking of giving away test cricket to focus solely on the limited format of the game. Mortaza who was fierce and troubled many a batsmen has lost his speed due to injuries but his ability to make the ball move still makes him one of the best bowlers in Bangladesh cricket making him a very important asset to the team.

Mortaza one of the few players from Bangladesh to have played in the IPL, was coached at the MRF pace academy by Dennis Lille and Mortaza burst into the light when he helped Bangladesh knock Indian out in the 2007 edition of the Cricket World Cup. Mortaza produced a spell of 4-30 in his 10 and humiliated India at the biggest stage and this arguably will remain the best moment of his career.

Mortaza who led Bangladesh in the CWC15, was first handed the captaincy for a tour to the Caribbean but missed out on the tour due to injury which gave Sakib a chance to clinch the skippers spot in the team. However, Mortaza was given a chance in 2014 against Zimbabwe. He helped his team white wash the series and thus held onto the captaincy ahead of Sakib for the World Cup.
