IPL has begun and the first match of the season, KKR’s win over MI, has definitely proved cracker of an opener as there were sixes flying around, 18 to be precise; bowlers also had their share of limelight as Morne Morkel was at his best yesterday and moreover many catch drops. It had all. We now move on to second day of IPL and the encounter between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils is expected to be exciting. We bring you head-to-head encounters between the two.
Delhi Daredevils had begun their IPL season pretty well and somewhere down the road they lost their way, with last two seasons specifically the team has failed to make a mark. This time the team has got Gary Kirsten as their coach, experience in the form Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, JP Duminy and many others.
On the other hand there is Chennai Super Kings led by captain cool, MS Dhoni. CSK from the past 7 seasons has been among the favourites and has also managed to win the title twice and made it to the final on many occasions. With Michael Hussey back in the team, they would have more solidity in their batting but it will be a tough choice to choose between McCullum, Dwayne Smith and Hussey for openers.
Before we discuss further let us have a recap of how both these teams have fared in their head-to-head encounters:
