Mathew Hayden won the Indian hearts on the occasion of the Independence Day after he tweeted the Indian national anthem. His way of sending the message was very unique.

The former Australian opener posted an English version of the anthem. This gesture drew a lot of attention and his act was highly appreciated.

Hayden has a great connection with India, all thanks to the Indian Premier League and his friendship with the Indian cricket team members. An aggressive batsman on the field, Haydo is famous for his humble nature and love for experiencing different cultures, cooking and surfing.

During his time in the IPL, he had the opportunity to experience all these hobbies playing for the Chennai Super Kings. Since then, his connection with the Indian cricket fans has grown stronger and stronger.

India skipper Virat Kohli hoist Tri-Colour in Sri Lanka

The Indian Cricket Team also celebrated the special occasion by hoisting the India flag at Kandy. Indian skipper Virat Kohli did the honours in the presence of other team members and support staff.
