Mayank Agarwal and Manan Vohra stars for India A as they defeated South Africa by 8 wickets with two balls to spare.

The only T20 warm-up game took place at the Airforce complex ground at Palam, New Delhi where the visitors won the toss against the India A side and had no second thoughts in batting first. South Africa was off to a shaky start losing their opening batsman Quinton De Kock for just 2 runs. Later Ab de Villiers and skipper Faf du Plessis steadied the innings for the South African side putting on an excellent partnership. However, both of them failed to carry on as Ab de Villiers got out for 37 while Faf du Plessis who went all guns blazing retired hurt on 42. Duminy played a blistering knock scoring 68 runs in just 32 balls hitting 6 sixes which ensured South Africa getting a huge score on the board. South Africa in their 20 overs scored 189 runs leaving the India A side to chase a tricky target.

Chasing a huge total India A was off to a brisk start with Openers Mayank Agarwal and Manan Vohra putting a solid first wicket stand. Both the players went on score a half century which put India in a safe position. Mayank Agarwal blasted 12 boundaries and 2 sixes in his innings but missed out on a well deserving century as he departed for 87. Manan Vohra played a flamboyant T20 knock scoring 56 runs from 42 balls. Later on Sanju Samson (31*) and Mandeep Singh (12*) did the final proceedings and took India home with 8 wickets and two balls to spare.

 

 

South Africa will play their first T20 match against India at Dharamsala on October 1st.
