Mayank Dagar is yet to make it to the senior Indian cricket team. However, the stylish youngster is already one of the most popular players in the country. Last year, he was all over the social media after sharing screen space with Rahul Dravid in a TV commercial for an IT giant.
Nephew of the legendary Virender Sehwag, Dagar shot to limelight with his exploits in the 2016 Under-19 World Cup. The spinner was part of team that finished runners-up at the 2016 World Cup. He was India’s second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. After warming the bench for the first two games of the World Cup, Dagar played all the other games including the final. In the 4 games he took 11 wickets at an average of 9.36, a strike-rate of 19.4 and an economy of 2.88.
In December 2015, he made his debut for Himachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy even before completing his 12th grade. he is a student of English Honours.
Dagar makes girl drools with his style. The youngster loves to show off his tattoos and toned body and is very popular across social media. He already has 1,00,000-plus followers on Instagram.
Well, he recently revealed the name of his crush which is bound to make his thousand of female followers disappointed. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Dagar revealed Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa is his crush.
“Sonam Bajwa. She’s a Punjabi actress,” he said.
His next comment, however, would make his followers happy as he confirmed his relationship status, saying:
“Single. My game is my relationship. As one stays loyal with one’s girlfriend, I stay loyal with my game.”
Dagar, meanwhile, has so far played 12 first-class and 18 List A games, taking 53 wickets.
