MCA Recommends a Ban of Three Matches on Agni Chopra

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) disciplinary committee has recommended a ban of three matches on Agni Chopra, the captain of Mumbai U-19 team, a report in Mid-day suggests.
Agni Chopra was accused of abusing the U-19 coach and selectors during a conversation with his teammates on a social media platform.

They got a screenshot of the conversation as a proof and later, the matter got reported to MCA,
“He [Agni] gave us a written apology. Boys make mistakes and though we don’t want to punish them, a strong message must go out to other players too,” MCA vice-president Vinod Deshpande, told mid-day.
The final decision will be announced today by the MCA committee.

Meanwhile, Chopra missed the previous Cooch Behar Trophy game for Madhya Pradesh which was played at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC in Mumbai. Divyaansh Saxena led the team in that game.
Arjun Tendulkar was also part of the team, and he scalped a total of six wickets in the game for 137 runs. Mumba churned out three points from the game by taking the first innings lead over Madhya Pradesh.
Mumbai’s next game is against Assam in Mumbai from December 8 to 11.
