Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has made clear that his point of view in the matter of Harbhajan Singh’s selection has been misinterpreted by media.
The media reports framed Sourav Ganguly saying Harbhajan Singh has not got selected as he does not belong to the player list, which is favored by the selectors and Captain MS Dhoni. Media extracted Ganguly quoting “when you have captain’s men around”, which is absolutely misquoted by the media.
“I take strong offence at a media report about my comment with regard to Harbhajan Singh’s comeback to Indian team, which reads…” I believe the selectors don’t think much on this (Harbhajan’s selection) and especially when you have captain’s men around,” Ganguly said to a news channel.
“It has been picked and misquoted from one of my television show in Kolkata where I stated that Harbhajan is not picked because the selectors and Dhoni feel that the current crop of spinners is better than Harbhajan,” Ganguly added to his statement.
