Today was the 15th match of the Big Bash League 2014-15. Today’s match lopsided. The Melbourne Stars excelled at batting and bowling. They were much better in the bowling department. Hits of the Day
1. Luke Wright
Luke Wright scored the maximum runs today. Although he didn’t score half-century but he scored valuable runs. There were no big hitter today but everyone performed well from his team. He scored 39 runs in 21 balls with a strike rate of 185.7. He hit 5 fours and 1 six.
2. Tom Triffitt
Tom Triffitt came the very end and batted aggressively. In just 13 balls he scored 22 runs with a strike rate of 169.2 and hit 2 fours and 1 six. He was not out till the end of the innings.
3. Dwayne Bravo
Dwayne Bravo gave a little more runs than his teammates but bowled beautifully. He took 3 wickets and gave 22 runs with an economy of 7.3 in his 3 overs.
4. Michael Beer
Michael Beer was the best bowler today. He gave away on 14 runs with an economy of 3.5 in his 4 overs spell. He took 2 wickets and that too of the top order batsman.
5. Jackson Bird
Jackson Bird was another great bowler today. He too picked up 2 wickets in his 3 overs and gave 12 runs with an economy of 4.
6. Scott Boland
Scott Boland picked up 2 wickets today. He came to bowl when already the Melbourne Renegades lost its valuable batsmen. He dismissed the last batsman by run out and ended the game. He bowled 2 overs and picked 2 wickets with an economy of 5.
Flops of the Day
1. Matthew Wade
Matthew Wade, the opening batsman didn’t show some action was dismissed too early in the 2nd over by Jackson Bird and scored only 4 runs. He is losing his form.
2. Aaron Finch
The skipper, Aaron Finch, too was unsuccessful today. He scored only 8 runs. He too was dismissed early by Michael Beer in the 3rd over. He must devise some new strategies to lift his team up.
3. Callum Ferguson
Callum Ferguson went out for a duck. After the dismissal of the opening pairs he was on pressure and could not handle it and was dismissed by Michael Beer.
4. James Pattinson
James Pattinson was the most expensive bowler today. He gave away 42 runs in 4 overs with an economy of 10.5 and didn’t manage to pick up any wicket.
5. Ben Rohrer
Ben Rohrer was too disappointing today. He scored only 1 run and faced 3 balls. He too was unable to bat in the pressure created by the bowlers and the quick dismissal of the top order batsman.
