Former Australian captain Michael Clarke heaped praise on Virat Kohli, hailing him as the greatest batsman in the world right now. Kohli hit a wonderful double hundred against England on the penultimate day of the fourth Test match which helped India go 3-0 up in the Test series.
India has still one match to play against England which is scheduled to take place in Chennai. Kohli’s exceptional innings of 235 runs entered the record books as Kohli now has the highest individual score by an Indian captain. India also continued their dream run under the leadership of Virat Kohli and now has won 5 in a row.
With his third double ton of the year in 2016, Kohli entered the elite list of batsman to achieve this feat. Virat Kohli, Don Bradman, Ricky Ponting and Brendon McCullum all have three double centuries in a year whereas Michael Clarke had four in the year 2012. On Twitter, Clarke was asked by a user whether Kohli would be able to equal his record of 4 double centuries in a year to which the former Australain captain replied “I hope so. I love watching @imVKohli,”
