Michael Hussey Chooses Better ODI Captain Between Ricky Ponting And MS Dhoni
Former Australian star cricketer Michael Hussey closely experienced the top cricket captains Ricky Ponting and MS Dhoni. Recently, he has chosen the better ODI captain between Ponting and Dhoni.
Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and former Indian captain MS Dhoni both were very successful international captains. Ricky Ponting-led Australia won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 and 2007 as well as ICC Champions Trophy 2006 and 2009. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni-led India won the ICC World T20 2007, ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013.
Apart from those, both captains won many other reputed international trophies.
Out of his 324 international matches as a captain, Ricky Ponting achieved victories in 220 matches. On the other hand, captain MS Dhoni won 178 matches out of the record 332 international matches.
Michael Hussey played 203 international matches under the captain Ricky Ponting. Meanwhile, the left-handed batsman served MS Dhoni-led IPL team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from 2008 to 2013 and further in 2015. At present, Michael Hussey is the batting coach of CSK since IPL 2018. Like with the captain Ponting, Hussey also achieved many glorious successes in his cricket career under the captain Dhoni.

Hussey feels that it is the tough call for him to choose the best captain between Ponting and Dhoni. While he never played an ODI under Dhoni’s captaincy, he put Ponting ahead of Dhoni on that comparison.
According to the Times Now, Hussey said in an interview, “It’s a tough one, well, I will have to say, Ricky. I never played in ODIs with MS Dhoni, so I will go with Ricky.”
Michael Hussey was one of the successful cricketers in the cricket world. Hussey was one of the members during Australia’s victory in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 and ICC Champions Trophy 2006 and 2009.
On the other hand, as a CSK player, Hussey celebrated to win the IPL 2010 and 2011 and Champions League T20 2010.
