Michael Vaughan fears a whitewash against India

The former England skipper, Michael Vaughan, has raised concerns over the performance of England cricket team and has clearly said that if they continue to play like this, then there are high chances of England team being whitewashed by team India when they tour the country next month,

“If they perform like they did against Bangladesh, it’ll be 5-0,” Vaughan told the BBC.

“It doesn’t matter who goes first. England for such a long time is always 30 or 40 for three. If they’re 30 or 40 for three against India they’ll get blown away,

“Yes, you celebrate a win, but hopefully England, in the background, is being honest with themselves that they can play better,” he added

Vaughan’s statement has come after the England team narrowly escaped a loss against Bangladesh in the first Test match for the series. England team won the game by the skin of their teeth and somehow managed to get those two all important wickets in the first 20 minutes of the day. It was more of a technical failure from Bangladesh side as their main batsman Sabbir Rahman was busy giving the strike to the tailenders, had he not given the strike to them, the result could have been different. Surely the England captain Alastair cook somewhere in the back of his mind would be thinking about this and yes he has to because it will never be easy for England team to replicate what they did in the year 2012. The squad has totally changed, they neither have Gramme Swann nor Monty Pandersar who toppled the Indian batting line u that time.

The England team will be a tough test on Indian tour but before that, they have to pass one for test i.e. second Test match against Bangladesh which is scheduled to be played from October 28 at Shere Bangla National Stadium at Mirpur.
