Milestones in ODIs that were first achieved by Sachin Tendulkar

Arguably the finest cricketer of all time, Sachin Tendulkar holds almost every batting record. In an illustrious career spanning over two decades, the batting maestro scored over an astonishing 18 thousand runs in One-Day Internationals(ODI) with 49 centuries and 96 fifties. The most prolific run scorer of all time made his debut way in 1989 and went on rule the cricketing world.

6. First player to feature in 400 ODIs
Sachin Tendulkar made history in 2007 by becoming the first cricketer to appear in 400 One-Day Internationals (ODI) when he played against West Indies in Vadodara. Sri Lankan trio of Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, and Sanath Jayasuriya later joined Sachin in the list. With 463 ODIs, Sachin still holds the record of maximum number of ODIs played by a cricketer.
5. First batsman to score 49 centuries in ODIs:
The little master is the first player to score 49 centuries in ODIs. He is also the first batsman to cross the 20, 30 and 40-centuries mark in ODIs.
4. First player to reach 10,000-11,000-12,000-13,000-14,000-15,000-16,000-17,000 and 18,000 ODI runs.
On 31st March 2001 playing against Australia in Indore, the former batsman became the first batsman to score 10,000 runs in ODIs. Later, he went on to become the first player to score 12,000, 13,000, 14,000, 15,000, 16,000, 17,000 and 18,000 runs in 50-over format. He still holds the record for most number of runs in ODI cricket.
3. Tendulkar was the first batsman to score over 3,000 runs against an opponent
With 3077 runs against the mighty Australians, Sachin became the first cricketer to hit 3,000 runs in ODIs against the same opposition. The maestro has hit 9 centuries and 15 half centuries against the team from down under. Till now he remains the only player to do so against the Aussies. Since then he has also done this against Sri Lanka (3,113 runs).
2. The first players to complete the all-round treble of 10000 runs, 100 wickets, and 100 catches.
Apart from his brilliant batting, he was also a handy bowler and an equally important fielder. He took 154 wickets and 140 catches in his illustrious career.
1.First to score 200 in ODIs:
Well, a deserving man to cross the 200-run mark in an ODI match. Sachin created history against South Africa in 2010 when he scored the double century in 147 balls. Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, and Chris Gayle later joined him on that list.
