Misbah-ul-Haq Will Receive Deserving Send-Off On Retirement: Mickey Arthur

Mickey Arthur has said Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq has been an exceptional servant for Pakistan cricket and he’ll receive the kind of send-off he deserves on his retirement.
Amidst Misbah’s sensitive situation as a captain now, after his side suffered a 3-0 whitewash at the hands of Australia, Arthur said his (Misbah) retirement plans are yet to be discussed, which means he’ll most likely lead Pakistan in the forthcoming series against the West Indies in March.
“I really can’t say what he has planned but I will be talking to him again then [we] will see what he has planned.”
“Misbah has given a lot to the team and he is a legend for Pakistan’s cricket. He is a great leader and deserves all the appreciation and all the respect and a good sign off which he deserves either now or whenever he decides to go.”
After leading Pakistan to No. 1 rankings in Tests in September last year, Misbah went through a low as he lost consecutive series in New Zealand and Australia. The unassuming batsman held Pakistan cricket after the 2010 spot-fixing scandal, and did a great job in lifting the side’s stature in the longer format of the game.
Pakistan will tour West Indies for two T20Is, three ODIs and three Tests, starting March 31 at Port of Spain.
