The former Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson has put his weight behind Glenn Maxwell for his rants on Matthew Wade for demotion in the batting order as Micthell Johnson tweeted,
@wwos A fine, really!! Should be batting in front of a wicketkeeper considering he is a batsman. He was only being honest right??

Glenn Maxwell, a few days back lashed out at Matthew Wade for demoting him in the batting order ahead of the much anticipated Sheffield game before the Pink ball Test match. It was the great opportunity for the players to make a mark and get selected in Australian team as the selection committee led by Trevor Hohns axed as much as six players from the squad. Glenn Maxwell could not make it to the squad whereas Matthew Wade, who batted ahead of him was selected. After missing out on the selection, Maxwell ousted at Matthew Wade for demoting him in the batting order by saying that it was harsh on him to demote him.
Though Wade did not respond to him but Australian coach Darren Lehmann was quick to reply as he counted out flaws in the batting of Glenn Maxwell saying that he hasn’t scored a century in past two years. Maxwell’s teammate and former Australian opener Rob Quiney too intervened and asked Maxwell to keep quite and score some runs.
Later, Maxwell was also fined for an unannounced amount but after all this, Johnson is the first player who has lend his support for Glenn Maxwell.
Glen Maxwell is a part of the Australian squad for the Chappell-Hadlee trophy which starts from December 4 and Maxwell is expected to make a comeback in playing XI after a period of almost five months.
