Mithali Raj has been in a swashbuckling form in the recent ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup as India topped Group B, going into the semifinals of the mega event.
Meanwhile, they remain undefeated in Group B and top the points table. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur were the top-scorers as India posted 167 runs on the board. They did begin their pursuit of 168 decently with Mooney stepping up the pedal in the Powerplay. But once the Indian spinners came to the attack Australia hit a roadblock as the runs were tied down and also, they lost wickets at crucial intervals.
Ellyse Perry was the top scorer for the Southern Stars with 39 runs. Anuja Patil was the pick of the bowlers for India with three scalps while Poonam Yadav chipped in with two wickets.
Mithali Raj, who was not a part of the tie against Australia, scored heavily in the opening fixtures. With the semifinal berth already booked, the management decided to rest the veteran cricketer. Her innings against Ireland took Raj as the highest run-getter in T20Is, surpassing Rohit Sharma and even Indian men’s team captain Virat Kohli.
With 2283 T20I runs so far, the 35-year-old is now ahead of Sharma (2207) and Kohli (2102) in the list of highest run-getters among the Indians. She will be a key component for India going into the knockout stages of the tournament.

The well-known Bollywood actress shared high praise for the veteran batsman wishing her best for the future.

Raj was quick to reply to Madhuri’s tweet saying that she hopes to continue the streak.

Hrithik Roshan, famous for his dancing skills, said that she is breaking the glass ceilings everywhere.

Raj seemed happy for the praise stating that she is aiming for the same.
