The biopic on Indian limited over captain MS Dhoni has revealed many things about the World Cup winning captain.
Dhoni during his heydey proved himself as one of the top match winners in the history of ODI cricket, but the legend was run out for a duck in the debut match in 2004 Bangladesh tour.
The batsman who was on the other end was Mohammad Kaif, who refuted claims made by Dhoni’s friend in the movie. On ODI debut, in 2004, MS Dhoni was run out for a duck of his first ball against Bangladesh and the scene was unsurprisingly in the movie and the former Indian cricketer was involved in the run out has cleared the air that surrounded the incident. In the match, Dhoni was run out for a duck, but in the movie, Dhoni’s friend claimed, “Kaif ka Galti Tha” (It was Kaif’s mistake”). It was Kaif who called for a single.
And now after watching the MS Dhoni biopic and saying it is an inspiration to youngsters, he also cleared the air about the incident and said, “Nahi Bhai, mera galti nahi tha” (It was not my fault). Here is what Mohammad Kaif had to say about the incident:

In the first ODI against Bangladesh where Dhoni made his debut, India looked set for a big total as Mohammad Kaif and Rahul Dravid were batting, having completed their fifties, and the score was 173 for 3 with last 10 overs of the match remaining. But Dhoni came in and run out off the first ball, but Kaif top scored with 80 and helped India to score 245 for 8 and eventually win the match by 11 runs. Although Dhoni has gone on played 278 ODIs amassed nearly 9000 runs at ana average of 51.25 and a strike rate of close to 90.
