Mohammad Amir Rates Virat Kohli As The Best Batsman At Present

There seems to be some clear case of mutual respect and appreciation between Indian skipper Virat Kohli, and Pakistani pace spearhead -Mohammad Amir. The two share a rather impressive rivalry on the cricket field, having bossed each other on a few occasions, but off the field, the two remain great friends and well wishers of each other.
Recently, during a Twitter interactive session, Amir was asked by a user about who his favourite batsman at present was. The left arm pacer had no hesitation in taking Virat Kohli’s name and mentioned that Indian captain as the best batsman at present. This comes down as soothing news for fans of the two nations, who are often at loggerheads with one another across all forms of social media.
This, however, wasn’t the first case of mutual respect being shown between the two, but last year as well, a similar incident was witnessed. When Amir marked his return to international cricket upon serving his ban related to spot fixing, it was Kohli who made the first move by stating that Amir deserved a shot at redemption and it was great to see him back on the field.

“I have always believed that he (Amir) is a world class bowler and had he been around for the five years that he was banned, he would have certainly been a top three bowlers in the world. He has a lot of talent, has got pace, bounce a very good yorker,” Kohli said about the Pakistani pacer on the sidelines of the 2016 Asia Cup last year.
While doubt remains over the bilateral ties between the two teams, there would be nothing like an India- Pakistan series right now, given the respect is shown by their top cricketers.
