Mohammad Azharuddin is set to make a comeback to politics as the former Indian skipper has decided to contest elections for the post of President of Hyderabad Cricket Association. The former Member of Parliament will file his nomination on Tuesday, he confirmed, “Yes I will be filing my nomination on Tuesday.”
“I would like to bring some change and I will work hard to bring more talent in Indian cricket”.
Azharuddin first indicated to contest the elections last year but added that he was not sure about the same. Finally, he confirmed that he is in the race of becoming the next HCA President.
Azharuddin will be one of the strongest contenders in the elections as the veteran of 99 Test matches is a former player himself and in addition to that has also been a Member of Parliament, which adds to his CV.
The Hyderabad cricket association, last year, came under the scanner when a 4 crore scam shook the state board. The ACB also filed a charge sheet against HCA President Arshad Ayub, its former president G Vinod and seven others for misusing public money.
