Indian captain Virat Kohli and Babar Azam are compared now and then for their batting style. The duo has played big knocks for their country to led them to victory. Last year, Babar Azam was handed over the captaincy of Pakistan in the T20 cricket.
Babar Azam is the No. 1 T20 batsman and has achieved this feat in the short span of his career. He is also in the top three in the ODI batsman ranking while it is under top five names in the ICC Test ranking. He has come out as one of the promising batsmen in the Green army.
The veteran Mohammad Hafeez believes that it is not the right time to compare both the batsman. He says that Virat Kohli has more experience than Babar Azam of playing international cricket.
Both have two different sides: Mohammad Hafeez on Babar Azam and Virat Kohli
“I think it’s not right to compare these two [Babar Azam and Virat Kohli]. Kohli is a brilliant cricketer and he has performed all over the world but Babar is also playing exceptionally well. Both have two different sides and there is no comparison between them,” said the former Pakistan captain.
Hafeez was recalled in the team after Pakistan failed to impress in the T20I series against Sri Lanka at home. The 39-year-old was dropped from the team after his team failed to qualify for the ICC World Cup 2019.
Hafeez said that he will retire from the international cricketer after playing the T20 World Cup 2020.
“I’m planning to retire respectfully after playing the T20 World Cup later this year,” the 39-year-old said. “I will continue playing T20 leagues around the world as long as I’m fit and performing with the bat.”
The mega event is scheduled in October later this year in Australia. But the coronavirus pandemic might affect the start date of the tournament.
