Mohammad Saifuddin Set To Miss India T20Is Due To Back Injury
Bangladesh’s right-arm fast bowler Mohammad Saifuddin is set to miss the upcoming T20I series against India. Saifuddin is expected to be ruled with the recurrence of the back issues.
The all-rounder has been included in Bangladesh’s 15-man squad for the three-match series. However, now Bangladesh Cricket Board is now looking for other options who can replace Saifuddin in the squad.
Mohammad Saifuddin has been troubled with back issues.
BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin has confirmed that Saifuddin will not be able to recover in time for the three-match series. However, the final decision will be taken tomorrow after a discussion with the team physio.
”I don’t think he will be able to play [against India in the T20 series],” BCB’s chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricbuzz on Sunday (October 20). ”We will talk with Julian [physio] tomorrow to take a final decision, but what I understand is that it won’t be possible for him to take part in the T20 series,”‘ he added.
In fact, the fast bowler is having back woes for a while. He had also played with back issues in the ICC World Cup 2019. The all-rounder was also included for the ODI series against Sri Lanka but he was ruled out with the back problem at the last minute.
Furthermore, Saifuddin had also found himself in the squad for the T20I tri-series against Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. However, he was once again ruled with the back issue.
