The former Indian captain and former member of Parliament, Mohammad Azharuddin, is now looking forward to contesting elections for the post of President of Hyderabad Cricket Association. Currently, Hyderabad cricket association is surrounded with controversy in a 4 crore scam which has shaken the board.
HCA and its members are currently under scanner as ACB has filed charge sheet against HCA president Arshad Ayub, its former president G Vinod and seven others for misusing public money. They have to appear before the court again on November 28.
Till now, Azharuddin has not confirmed news of him being contesting elections as he said “I am planning to contest in the HCA election. But nothing has been finalized”.
Surely, if he decides to go forward in this line, then there are fair chances of him getting success as he is one of the prominent players the country has ever seen. Along with that, he has also been the member of Parliament in past which adds weight to his CV.
Though his life has been marred with match fixing scandals but he has come clean out of it.
BCCI also removed the ban on him and later invited him to the 500th Test match of Indian cricket team. He was the part of felicitation ceremony and was felicitated along with other captains of Indian cricket team. Azhar was known for his unique style of batting and was one of the players who introduced glamor in cricket.
