Mohammed Irfan is set to return to cricket, as his six-month ban ended which means he is now eligible for selection in the Sri Lanka series scheduled to begin from 28th September.
Irfan was suspended by the PCB regarding an investigation in the spot fixing probe in the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Irfan who stands tall at 7 foot 1 inch, last played for Pakistan in a T20 match for Islamabad United in the PSL.

Irfan was suspended following his acceptance that he did not inform the officials when bookies approached him. PCB banned the fast bowler for a year, along with the ban he was also fined PKR one million. However, he was told that his ban could be shortened to six months if he abides by the suspension guidelines which he successfully did and he is finally free to play cricket.
Just like Mohammed Amir, Irfan has also admitted that the period of the ban has been the toughest phase of his life. He said,
“As a cricketer, knowing that you cannot play cricket hurts badly, when a player is banned from doing something he has done all his life, it really hurts,”
Irfan has played four T20s and 57 ODI’s for Pakistan picking up 10 and 78 wickets in the respective formats. The 35-year-old is aiming to make a comeback to the national team in the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka.
