Mohammed Shami feels Insecure Staying Back at Home

Mohammed Shami is currently enjoying a flawless period on the field, as he recently rattled the Sri Lankan batsmen in the three-match Test series with a ferocious spell of fast bowling.

But his life off the field has not been as easy as it has been on the field. He has been a target of the social media and has been trolling on various occasions for some reason or the other.

In a recent statement, Shami has claimed that he feels unsafe staying at home and cannot leave his family behind when he is away on tours. Shami, who is India’s spearhead in the bowling department has been receiving threats and abuses from the locals. Three accused Shiva Pramanik (32), Swarup Sarkar (34) and Jayanta Sarkar (39) have threatened Shami and his family in the recent past.

Shami was trolled for the first time when he posted a picture of him and his wife celebrating their daughters second birthday. Fans criticised him, and they went on to say,

“Sad to see your wife without hijab. my dear Shami sir do not look at the smallness of the sin, rather look at the one whom you are disobeying,”

Shami was upset with the residents and administrators, as no one came up to him to comfort him, he said

“Cops did their job, but then on, no one from the locality or the local administration approached me to comfort me or my family. I really feel unsafe for me and my family to stay here any longer. I cannot let them stay here when I am away on tour.”

He also said that he has never felt secure living in the society, and his wife doesn’t want to stay there but he feels that if he leaves the society, then it would be against his will and he won’t run away, as he is not a coward.

“How can I forgive someone who threatened my wife and me and made my daughter cry? I am not going to forgive them. I was really hurt and shocked at the incident,” he said.
