India’s young wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant has been in and out of the national team setup owing to lack of consistency in his approach. Even during the home assignment against Australia, Pant was forced to warm the bench as KL Rahul got the not ahead of him following a concussion.
During India’s tour of New Zealand, KL Rahul donned the gloves in the five-match T20I series and three-match ODI series where he showcased his mettle with the bat and also performed considerably well behind the stumps.

Having already lost his gloves to KL Rahul in limited-overs cricket, clueless Rishabh Pant is not a first-choice wicketkeeper-batsman in the playing XI as of now.
Mohammed Shami praises Rishabh Pant
India’s top pacer Mohammed Shami on Wednesday reserved the highest respect for India’s young wicket-keeper batsman, Rishabh Pant, adding that Pant has an incredible talent. India’s fast bowler joined former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan on Instagram live session where both of them discussed some important topics.

“Rishabh’s talent is amazing and it is not like he is my friend that is why I am saying. It is just about confidence, the day he got that confidence, he will be very dangerous,” Shami said during the session.
So far, Rishabh Pant has been under pressure to fill Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s shoes. However, he needs to bring his own identity into the game to be a regular feature in the Indian national cricket team.
